I use a Heath DPIR and RMLD but rely on traditional walking for Leakage Surveys in class 3 and 4 locations.
With my six years of experience in leak surveys, I believe walking leakage surveys allow for the most accurate sampling of gas mains, services, and meters allowing for hazardous leaks to be caught and to diagnose small leaks before they have a chance to become hazardous.

As I stated previously I have worked in the natural gas industry for six years.
Four of those years was at Centerpoint Energy in the Leak Survey department where, with the assistance of Picaaro, did leak investigations in addition to traditional walking wherever Picarro couldn’t reach.
I spent two years at Utility Safety and Design Inc. where I experienced a great growth in knowledge. Including leak survey's, I also spent time doing performance evaluations, Plans and Manuals, Office of Pipeline Safety Inspections, and other compliance work for clients.
